AUCTION TIMING

CTC LEAF: 42,642 packages and 154 packages of Old Season Teas on offer  met with a fair demand at easier rates.

BROKENS: A fair weight of bright liquoring Brokens met with quite a good demand but were easier, sometimes by Tk.8/- to Tk.10/- over last whilst Mediums met with  a fair demand and shed upto Tk.12/- per kg with fair withdrawals. Plain teas saw less demand with more withdrawals.

FANNINGS: Bright Fannings initially met with a fairly good demand and were selling below Tk.5/- to Tk.10/- from the last levels. Mediums types shed upto Tk.12/- with some withdrawals whilst plain varieties were easier following quality and there were several withdrawals in this category.

CTC DUST: 7,618 packages Teas on offer  met with a fair demand at easier rates. Good liquoring varieties sold well at around last levels. Mediums and plainer teas were generally easier by Tk.8/- to Tk.10/- following quality with a few withdrawals. Blenders lent good support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers. .

COMMENTS: There was a larger weight of tea on offer and owing to reduced limits held by the buyers, prices saw a fair decline over last week and there were also more withdrawals particularly in the plainer categories. Blenders were the mainstay of the market whilst there was only limited interest from the Loose tea buyers.

Dusts were an easier market.
